Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Service Manager to lead and grow our Service Department and play a key role in the overall success of our dealership. The ideal candidate is a proven automotive dealership leader with a strong understanding of service operations, customer satisfaction, technician productivity, departmental profitability, and team development . General Motors experience is strongly preferred, and commercial/fleet experience is a major plus. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fixed Operations professional who is looking to join a dealership focused on growth, accountability, customer retention, and operational excellence. Compensation $216,000 - $264,000 annually , based on experience, qualifications, and performance. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee daily Fixed Operations and Service Department activities. Develop and execute strategies to increase service revenue, gross profit, customer-pay business, and retention . Manage department performance through key metrics including ELR, hours per RO, effective labor rate, technician productivity, CSI, customer retention, and departmental profitability . Recruit, train, coach, and develop Service Advisors, Technicians, and support staff. Establish and maintain high standards for customer service and operational efficiency. Work closely with Parts, Sales, and other dealership departments to maximize overall dealership performance. Monitor technician workflow, scheduling, dispatching, and productivity. Ensure proper warranty, internal, customer-pay, and recall processes are followed. Maintain compliance with manufacturer, dealership, and regulatory requirements. Develop processes to improve customer communication, appointment scheduling, vehicle turnaround time, and overall customer experience. Identify opportunities to grow commercial and fleet service business . Build and maintain relationships with fleet and commercial customers. Analyze financial statements and departmental performance to identify opportunities for improvement. Hold department leadership and employees accountable to established goals and performance standards. Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented work environment. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of automotive dealership Service Management or Fixed Operations leadership experience . Proven track record of increasing Service Department profitability and productivity. Strong knowledge of dealership financial statements and Fixed Operations KPIs. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain high-performing teams. Strong understanding of technician productivity, Service Advisor performance, and customer retention. General Motors dealership experience strongly preferred. Commercial/Fleet service experience preferred. Working knowledge of GM warranty, recalls, service processes, and manufacturer programs is a plus. Strong computer and dealership management system skills. Must be highly organized, performance-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment.
