Job Description

Position Overview :

Under supervision of the site Facilities Manager, performs general custodial maintenance duties, as well as prepares campus for special events, meetings, assemblies and general academy activities. Essential Duties and Requirements  Work in a collaborative manner with the Administration Team to implement the goals and policies of the Board of Trustees.  Performs general custodial duties related to assigned areas; cleans, sanitizes, and maintains rooms, eating areas, office space, restroom facilities, equipment, buildings and adjacent areas.  Responsible for cleaning floors, windows, and surfaces (counters, tables, desks, etc.).  Cleans and disinfects restrooms; replenishes and maintains restrooms supplies.  Cleans lighting fixtures and replaces bulbs when needed.  Set up and tear down duties for rooms and equipment for special events, meetings, and academy activities.  Orders and maintains custodial supplies.  Maintain building security, securing windows and doors. Report any unauthorized persons and other security problems to appropriate administrators and/or law enforcement.  Uses a wide variety of tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and effective manner; follows label instructions to mix and dilute cleansers, disinfectant, and stripping agents to ensure proper strength for use.  Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service training activities provided by the Academy and in self-directed professional growth activities.  Abide by all policies set forth by the Board of Trustees.  Consistently follow the Mission and Core Values of John Adams Academy.  Accept personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.  Be a good steward of funds, time, materials, fellow staff members, and other resources. Knowledge and Abilities  Demonstrate strong communication skills, a high level of critical thinking, analysis, reflection and cooperative team building attributes.  Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment used in facilities work.  Ability to safely operate custodial and cleaning equipment.  Understand and be able to apply safe occupational work practices.  Read and understand chemical labels and decals.  Ability to use hand and power tools.  Ability to perform physical labor.  Maintain positive, proactive communication with administration, staff and the Board of Trustees.  Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.  Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations and procedures.  Ability to meet internal and external deadlines.  Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, Core Values, policies and procedures as they relate to your position. Pay:

$25.00
