POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Facility Manager the Facility Maintenance Supervisor works in all areas of maintenance operations of the venue, especially athletic fields. This position will generally involve the performance of manual tasks requiring skilled and semi-skilled work or special knowledge acquired through on-the-job training or experience. The Facility Maintenance Supervisor will supervise and assist co-workers in completing various tasks and day-to-day maintenance duties as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
Support in the hiring process, training, scheduling, etc. part-time Facility Maintenance Team Members Assign, oversee, and assist staff in the completion of maintenance tasks Monitor inventory and order supplies Provide knowledgeable service to guests through awareness of the guests, community, trends, and facility offerings Responsible for opening/closing facility Record all incidents through daily rounds during league play as Manager on Duty ("MOD") to ensure a safe facility and maintain OSHA and ADA compliance Mow, trim, edge, sod, aerate and irrigate athletic fields and general ground areas of the park using many differences pieces of grounds maintenance equipment Operate, maintain, and repair irrigation system Assist Facility Manager with all pesticide applications Assist Facility Manager with updating Maintenance Care Assist with maintaining synthetic surfaces. Ex. grooming, dragging, patch/plate repairs Layout and paint soccer and football field, as well as set up fencing and mounds on the baseball/softball fields Prepare all playing surfaces to meet the unique needs of each tournament group Lead staff during weekend tournaments and events Assist in the completion of needed renovation projects on all aspects of athletic field Complete special projects and daily assignments as directed by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in turf management, related field or equivalent experience is preferred Knowledge/experience maintaining natural grass and synthetic surfaces Knowledge of irrigation repairs and maintenance is a plus Can calibrate and operate a turf spray rig for liquid chemical applications Can calibrate and operate a walk spreader for fertilizer applications Available and willing to work long hours and varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to follow and give written and oral instructions Ability to promote a positive self-image and lead by example
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend into awkward positions while performing job functions Facility has intermittent noise
