The Chief Engineer leads hotel maintenance operations, ensuring the property, equipment, and building systems remain safe, functional, and well maintained. This position performs and oversees repairs and preventative maintenance while supporting excellent guest service. Key Responsibilities Lead, train, supervise, and develop maintenance associates. Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and other building systems. Manage and document the preventative maintenance program. Conduct property inspections and identify safety, security, and facility improvement needs. Respond promptly to work orders and delegate repairs when appropriate. Maintain hotel interiors, exteriors, equipment, and grounds. Ensure maintenance tools, materials, and equipment are available and properly maintained. Assist with interviewing, training, coaching, and performance management of maintenance staff. Maintain required maintenance logs, inspections, and documentation. Manage maintenance activities within budget while maintaining company and brand standards. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications 5-10 years of maintenance engineer, technician, or similar experience. Working knowledge of preventative maintenance, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. HVAC and Pool certifications preferred. Strong troubleshooting, leadership, organization, and communication skills. Experience safely using hand and power tools. Must meet company security clearance requirements. Physical & Scheduling Requirements Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. and lift/carry up to 60 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, bend, crawl, kneel, and reach. May work outdoors in hot or cold conditions. Flexible availability, including nights and weekends. Periodic overnight travel may be required. This is an on-site position.
