The Maintenance Manager is a key member of the leadership team at at our fertilizer granulation facility. They are responsible for maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by overseeing preventative maintenance, repairs, equipment reliability, and the maintenance team.
JOB DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Lead and supervise the plant maintenance team, contractors, and service providers. Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Maintain and repair granulation, screening, conveying, crushing, blending, drying, and material-handling equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation issues. Assist in planning and managing plant shutdowns, major repairs, and capital maintenance projects. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts inventories, and equipment history. Identify recurring equipment problems and implement solutions to improve reliability. Manage the maintenance budget and control costs while maintaining equipment reliability. Coordinate with Production to minimize downtime and maximize plant efficiency. Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, environmental, safety, and company requirements. Work with outside contractors and vendors to obtain services, parts, and technical support. Participate in root-cause analysis following significant equipment failures.
REQUIREMENTS
10 years of experience in maintenance and operations. 5 years of experience in a maintenance supervisory or management role. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with preventative maintenance systems and maintenance planning. Experience with heavy industrial processing or manufacturing equipment. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a dusty, industrial plant environment. Knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety practices. Excels in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making. Experience with fertilizer, chemical, aggregate, mining, or bulk material handling is highly preferred.
