Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Service Manager to lead our automotive service department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in auto service management and dealership experience, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our service department, maximizing efficiency, and driving sales through effective upselling techniques. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction and quality of work. Manage and mentor service technicians, providing guidance on automotive diagnostics, repair techniques, and customer interactions. Develop and implement strategies for upselling services and products to enhance revenue. Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and customer interactions through effective service writing. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Collaborate with the sales team to align service offerings with customer needs and promote automotive services effectively. Handle cash transactions and manage financial aspects of the service department. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive repair. Skills Proven experience in auto service management with a strong understanding of dealership operations. Proficient in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and various repair services including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, diesel engine repairs, alignment, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs. Experience in sales and auto estimating to maximize profitability within the service department. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and financial management within an automotive context. Previous experience as a service technician is highly desirable.
