A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

Onsite Position ## Your Responsibilities As a Maintenance Planner for JD Waterloo Works- Drivetrain Division located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities across the DTO facility to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve PM plans, procedures, task lists, and frequencies based on equipment performance and maintenance best practices.
- Manage and optimize maintenance spare parts cabinets and inventory to support efficient maintenance execution while minimizing downtime and inventory costs.
- Review maintenance history and work order feedback to identify, implement, and document PM corrections and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assign, prioritize, and coordinate AGM2, AGM3, and AGM6 work orders to support timely and effective maintenance execution.
- Analyze maintenance performance metrics, including PM compliance, backlog age, schedule attainment, and equipment reliability trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage the maintenance supply base to identify, source, and expedite critical repair parts, supporting rapid equipment recovery, machine uptime, and continuous improvement in asset reliability. ## What Skills You Need
- 1 or more years of maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, reliability engineering, or industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with SAP
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across maintenance, operations, engineering, and purchasing teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis tools to support maintenance performance reporting and decision making. ## What Makes You Stand Out
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate maintenance activities across multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with maintenance budgeting, contractor coordination, and procurement processes.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Understanding of maintenance and reliability metrics such as PM compliance, schedule attainment, MTBF, MTTR, backlog age, and equipment uptime.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Reliability Excellence principles.
- SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) experience preferred. ## Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Technology, or a related field.
