A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

Job Description

GMS is looking to hire a Contract Maintenance Planner/Scheduler (Mill & Process Area) to join our growing team in Idaho. This position will plan and schedule maintenance work for mill and process plant equipment. The successful candidate will work 14 days on, 7 off- working 12-hour shifts. Per diem will be offered if eligible. Job duties include but are not limited to: Review, prioritize, and develop work orders in SAP, including labor, parts, tools, and equipment requirements. Build weekly and daily maintenance schedules in coordination with operations, maintenance supervisors, and contractors. Ensure materials, permits, isolation plans, and resources are available before scheduled work begins. Manage maintenance backlog and identify opportunities to improve work execution efficiency. Track schedule compliance, and work order completion Work closely with the project team to coordinate and prioritize agreed upon self perform work. Verify job plans, estimate labor hours, and develop standards for recurring maintenance tasks. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance planning, scheduling, and SAP data quality. Participate in safety planning and ensure all work complies with site safety and environmental requirements. Generate reports and provide status updates on upcoming work, resource utilization, and maintenance performance. If you are interested in joining our team, please apply with an updated resume. $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
