Job Description

Landscape Crew Lead - Irrigation & Pruning at Senske Services in Hayden, Idaho, United States Job Description Position Summary As a Lawn Maintenance Technician Lead, you will oversee and work alongside a landscape maintenance crew, maintaining residential and commercial properties. This role requires hands-on expertise in irrigation systems, sprinkler maintenance, pruning, and seasonal services. You'll be responsible for shaping and maintaining shrubs, hedges, and low trees to promote healthy growth and remove damaged or overgrown material using hand tools and gas-powered equipment. You will also perform irrigation inspections, repairs, spring start-ups, and winterization/blowouts, ensuring systems operate efficiently year-round. This position works 4, 10-hour shifts each week (that's 3 days off each week!!). This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $20 - $25 per hour (depending on experience). Key Responsibilities Lead and support a lawn maintenance crew to complete daily routes efficiently and safely Perform expert pruning of shrubs, hedges, and low trees to improve plant health and appearance Operate shears, pruners, and gas-powered hedge trimmers with precision Conduct irrigation system maintenance, including troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments Perform spring start-ups and winterization/blowouts of irrigation systems Maintain and repair irrigation components such as sprinklers, valves, water lines, pumps, and backflow devices Mow, edge, aerate, seed, and maintain turf areas Perform property clean-up, debris removal, and general site maintenance Operate landscaping equipment (mowers, edgers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) Ensure equipment is properly maintained and in safe working condition Communicate with customers professionally during service visits Follow all safety protocols and wear the required PPE
Seasonal Duties:
Snow removal (shoveling, salting walkways, driveways, parking lots) Holiday light installation using ladders and safety harnesses Must-Have Qualifications Possess a valid driver's licenseand have a history of safe driving Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test (THC excluded). At least 21 years old or older (requirement to drive a company vehicle) Proven experience in lawn care, pruning, and irrigation systems Strong knowledge of sprinkler systems, irrigation repairs, and seasonal maintenance Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and manage time effectively Comfortable leading by example and supporting team productivity Commitment to safety and proper PPE usage Strong communication and customer service skills What We're Looking For Respectful, hardworking individuals with a sense of urgency Someone who takes pride in quality work and has strong customer service skills A team player who brings a positive attitude and supports others #INDHP59
