Job Description

Environmental Services Director Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting, budgeting, and physical management of the Maintenance, Laundry, and housekeeping department's employees and equipment in a way that maximizes cleanliness and order throughout the building and assures laundry services for both resident clothing and facility linen are maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma is preferred. Some business and personnel management training is also preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, heating and air-conditioning. Licensure or certification in any of these areas a plus. Knowledge of OSHA and IDPH Regulations relevant to housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.
Job duties:
Obtain staff by recruiting, interviewing, and verifying references in order to employ the number and kinds of personnel needed. Supervise scheduling of sufficient staff to ensure uninterrupted service to the facility and residents at all times. Supervise purchasing, storage, and distribution of all housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry supplies. Oversee all fire, disaster, and evacuation drills for all shifts. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator. Work as weekend Supervisor as part of Department head monthly rotation. Be on call seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day to troubleshoot in any and all kinds of emergencies or urgent repairs. Schedule and oversee all life safety required inspections, fire alarm, sprinkler, generator etc. Maintain all housekeeping, laundry, dietary, HVAC, and facility equipment in operating condition.
