Job Description

Position Summary The Corporate HDPE Extrusion Maintenance Manager provides leadership and technical direction for maintenance and reliability across the company's HDPE extrusion manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for improving equipment uptime, reducing unplanned downtime, standardizing maintenance practices, strengthening preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and developing maintenance capabilities across multiple facilities. The manager works closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Procurement, plant leadership, and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and build a proactive, reliability-focused maintenance culture. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Reliability Develop and standardize maintenance and reliability programs across multiple facilities. Improve equipment uptime, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, and maintenance cost performance. Analyze equipment failures and lead root-cause analysis and corrective-action efforts. Standardize CMMS processes, maintenance procedures, documentation, and performance metrics. Develop critical-spares and long-term asset-management strategies. Technical Leadership Provide technical support for HDPE extrusion equipment and related mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, and automation systems. Support troubleshooting of complex or recurring equipment failures. Evaluate equipment modifications, upgrades, and technologies that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and efficiency. Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, contractors, and technical service providers. Leadership & Development Coach and mentor plant maintenance managers, supervisors, electricians, mechanics, and technicians. Establish maintenance standards, training programs, and performance expectations. Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across manufacturing locations. Support workforce planning, succession planning, and technical development. Capital Projects & Safety Partner with Engineering and Operations on equipment upgrades, installations, and capital projects. Support equipment selection, commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing. Ensure maintenance practices and equipment improvements meet company safety and regulatory requirements. Support compliance with Lockout/Tagout, electrical safety, machine guarding, and other maintenance-related safety programs. Qualifications 7-10+ years of industrial maintenance and reliability experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing or HDPE extrusion. Strong knowledge of extrusion equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial controls. Experience developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Experience with CMMS systems, root-cause analysis, and maintenance performance metrics. Previous maintenance leadership, multi-site, regional, or corporate support experience strongly preferred. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project-management skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred; significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30-50%. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on, technically strong maintenance leader who understands both HDPE extrusion equipment and the business impact of equipment reliability. This individual must be comfortable moving between plant-floor troubleshooting, maintenance strategy, capital planning, team development, and leadership communication while building consistent maintenance practices across multiple facilities.
Pay:
$77,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
