Job Description

Maintenance ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at our food and beverage manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for ensuring reliable, safe and compliant plant operations through effective planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, managing a skilled maintenance team, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience with PLC systems, and background in food or beverage processing environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor and schedule a maintenance team of technicians and contractors to meet production needs while minimizing downtime.

Develop, implement and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability.

Troubleshoot, repair and optimize mechanical, electrical and PLC-controlled equipment; provide technical guidance for complex issues.

Manage maintenance planning and scheduling to support production plans and rapid response to breakdowns.

Oversee spare parts inventory management and procurement to reduce lead times and control costs.

Ensure compliance with food safety (HACCP, GMP), environmental and workplace safety regulations; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions after incidents.

Drive continuous improvement projects (equipment upgrades, reliability projects, TPM, 5S) to improve OEE, reduce waste and lower maintenance costs.

Manage maintenance budget, capital projects and contractor relationships; prepare reports on KPIs such as uptime, MTBF and maintenance costs.

Utilize CMMS to record work orders, track maintenance metrics and analyze trends for proactive decision-making.

Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to support new product introductions and process changes.

QualificationsAssociate or bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.5+ years of progressive maintenance experience in manufacturing with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role; experience in food or beverage manufacturing strongly preferred.

Proven hands-on experience with industrial maintenance including mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and instrumentation.

Proficiency with PLCs (programming, troubleshooting and ladder logic) and familiarity with automation systems.

Experience with maintenance systems (CMMS), preventive maintenance programs and reliability-centered maintenance practices.

Strong knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements (HACCP, GMP) and OSHA safety standards.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage contractors, prioritize work under production pressure and communicate effectively across functions.

Analytical problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis, continuous improvement methodologies (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma preferred).Willingness to work flexible hours, participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency breakdowns as needed.

Certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), electrical licenses or relevant trade certifications are a plus.

Experience in food production, food processing, beverage manufacturing, and industrial maintenance is highly desirable.
