Open to all shifts; overtime as required Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and direct skilled trades employees in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment . The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, cost, equipment reliability, throughput, and team performance. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance and automation experience , excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead, coach, and develop skilled trades teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and direct skilled trades employees to meet maintenance department objectives. Coordinate maintenance activities supporting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee morale . Oversee preventive, time-based, condition-based, and breakdown maintenance activities. Monitor and improve equipment reliability through MTBF, MTTR, downtime, and OEE metrics. Identify and resolve equipment-related throughput, downtime, and run-to-run issues. Lead troubleshooting and corrective action activities to prevent recurring equipment failures. Coach, mentor, and develop skilled trades employees and other team members. Drive waste reduction and continuous improvement initiatives through Autonomous Maintenance, Professional Maintenance, Quality Maintenance, Focus Improvement, and People Development . Lead and participate in Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing activities focused on equipment performance and waste reduction. Partner with plant leadership, production teams, engineering, and other functions to improve manufacturing performance. Manage multiple maintenance and automation projects simultaneously. Build effective relationships with hourly represented employees, plant leadership, and internal customers. Support a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 3 years of industrial automation experience , including project management experience. Maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving industrial equipment issues. Ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop skilled trades employees. Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels, from hourly skilled trades to senior leadership. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Goal-oriented, self-motivated leadership approach. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office . Ability to work any shift and overtime as required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement . Experience leading maintenance teams in a unionized manufacturing environment . Experience with PLC/controls, robotics, drives/VFDs, industrial communication systems, conveyors/conveyance systems, welding equipment, vision systems, sensors, and automated production equipment . Experience improving OEE, MTBF, MTTR, equipment reliability, throughput, and downtime . Experience leading Kaizen or other continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance leader who combines technical knowledge of industrial automation with strong people leadership skills . Candidates with experience supervising skilled trades in automotive, industrial, or other high-volume manufacturing environments are highly encouraged to apply.
