A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.
The Kelly Group is seeking a Maintenance Planner for work based out of its Lafayette, Indiana, location. This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties: Manage the SAP work order backlog using standard status codes Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures Daily management to maintain 2- to 4-week complete 'ready' backlog that is in alignment with production needs Plan maintenance jobs for assigned plant areas including all details needed to schedule and execute each job — procedures, labor, time, parts, tools, access, permitting, etc. Partner closely with maintenance supervisors for assigned areas each day to maintain proper priority for planning workflow Incorporate feedback on completed planned jobs from maintenance supervisors, reliability team, mechanics, maintenance storage, operations and skilled crafts to create a continuous improvement loop for job plans and planning procedures Build and maintain database of job plans Provide daily communications with a wide range of plant personnel Provide labor and costs estimates Establish a prioritizing partnership with the operations maintenance coordinator Other preferred qualifications sought include: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technology-related field 5 to 8 years of related professional experience in a heavy industrial environment working with mechanical maintenance or engineering teams Experience using CMMS for maintenance planning, scheduling and execution Familiarity with SAP maintenance system The Kelly Group offers a complete benefits package, including: Comprehensive group medical, Rx, dental and vision coverage Health care and dependent care pre-tax flexible spending account options Paid life/AD&D insurance Short-term and long-term disability 401(k) retirement plan option with employer match Paid time off and paid vacation Paid holidays
