Job Description

Grader Maintenance Manager:
The Grader Maintenance Manager is expected to achieve and maintain a level of competency that allows them to oversee the egg grader's efficient performance through regularly scheduled maintenance performance. In addition the Grader Maintenance Manager verifies grader parts and supplies inventories. Assists Grader manager with directing workers in government and company sanitation regulations. Inspects appearance and work methods of egg grader personnel for conformance to machine operation standards. All duties should be performed in an exemplary and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(non-exclusive list) Regularly lubricate all appropriate machine components (i.e. washer, transfer, and packers). Assist in ensuring that grader is being properly cleaned each day. Perform inspection of egg grader(s) at regular intervals. Must possess and bring with them to work all tools listed on attached tool sheet. Repair and/replace broken parts (i.e. washer, transfer, and packers). Regularly inspect and adjust all grader components. Assist Quality Control Inspector with monitoring proper egg weights and dates, and immediately correcting problems. Assist Grader manager with maintaining an organized and safe working environment. Be able to run the grader in the absence the Grader Manager or Assistant Grader Manager. Assist in monitoring and adjusting carton and box dating (make sure that daters have correct Julian date, expiration date, plant number, and that all are printing legibly). Assist in ensuring that grader is kept neat, clean, and organized during operation (i.e. trash and egg are picked up before, during, and after egg grader operation). Assist with oversight on new equipment installation. Ensure that grader is adequately staffed for the entire week. Ensure egg grader compliance with all Federal, State, and Local directives and regulations. Regularly communicate with and also assist with routine egg grader maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting. Completion and transmittal of all appropriate paperwork associated with egg grader operations and performance. Alert (within a reasonable time frame) the Corporate Processing Maintenance Manager or Complex Manager of any urgent or emergency situations which require immediate attention or approval. Familiarize self with and conform to all Biosecurity Program Policies. Familiarize self with and insure Egg Grader Personnel comply and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices Handbook (GMP) policies (applicable only to personnel at complexes with breaker plants). Familiarize self with and comply with Rose Acres Farms' Safety Program. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to reach areas only accessible by ladder. Must be able to climb to and work on equipment in hard-to-reach areas.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary mechanical/technical training or degree preferred. Capable of performing routine math calculations including percentages and fractions. Must be experienced in all phases of egg grader's mechanical functions (i.e. troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and familiarizing themselves with grader operation manual). Must be computer literate (i.e. working knowledge of WordPerfect and Lotus 123). Must be dependable and be available to work flexible hours - including nights and weekends. Must also be available 24 hours to answer emergency calls. Ability to quickly address critical and urgent situations in a timely and consistent manner.
