An Automotive Service Manager oversees mechanics and other workers who service and make fixes to automobiles. Responsible for controlling costs, building a loyal clientele, maintaining good employee relations, setting and obtaining sales and profit objectives and maintaining service records.
GLO Resources is seeking an experienced Rapid Oil Change Manager to work in Gonzalez, LA . The pay is between $52,000 and $72,000 per year, based on experience. This position works full-time from Monday through Saturday, 45 - 50 hours per week.
Position Summary:
The Rapid Oil Change Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a fast-paced automotive service center, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient workflow, and high-quality vehicle maintenance services. This role leads service technicians, manages customer interactions, oversees administrative functions, and ensures all services are performed safely and accurately. The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive maintenance, proven leadership experience, and the ability to effectively manage both operational and customer service responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the automotive service center to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable performance. Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate service technicians and support staff. Ensure oil changes, fluid services, filter replacements, vehicle inspections, and other preventive maintenance services are completed accurately and efficiently. Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing customer questions, concerns, and service recommendations professionally. Perform vehicle inspections and assist technicians with diagnosing maintenance needs when necessary. Accurately enter customer, vehicle, and service information into the company's computer system. Prepare invoices, process service transactions, and maintain accurate service records. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the ordering of oils, filters, fluids, and other shop supplies. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, environmental regulations, and industry best practices. Manage labor productivity, workflow efficiency, and overall shop performance. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and performance management of team members. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service environment.
Qualifications:
Previous management experience within a quick-lube, automotive service center, dealership service department, or similar automotive environment. Experience with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and service management platforms. Strong knowledge of oil changes, air filter replacement, fluid checks, and basic vehicle maintenance services. Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to accurately enter customer and vehicle information. Experience handling invoicing, service documentation, and administrative responsibilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. Knowledge of automotive service sales and customer retention practices. ASE certifications or other automotive industry credentials.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves regular physical activity, including: Standing for prolonged periods. Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching. Pushing and pulling heavy objects. Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
