Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

This is a hands-on planning role for an experienced professional who can independently evaluate maintenance work, develop detailed job plans and work packages, and coordinate with maintenance personnel, vendors and other plant stakeholders to support safe and efficient execution. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial mechanical maintenance planning , preferably within a chemical plant, refinery, petrochemical, LNG or similar heavy industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Perform field walks to evaluate equipment, work conditions and incoming maintenance work orders. Review work orders and develop detailed maintenance job plans and work packages for craft personnel.
Plan mechanical maintenance activities involving:
Pumps Heat exchangers Valves Piping systems General mechanical equipment Identify required labor, materials, parts, tools, equipment and services needed to complete maintenance work. Create, manage and update maintenance work plans in SAP . Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding parts, materials, equipment availability and status. Generate purchase orders and assist with procurement-related activities. Work closely with plant gatekeepers, work activity coordinators and maintenance personnel to ensure planned work is ready for execution. Communicate with multiple stakeholders to resolve planning, material and scheduling issues. Develop comprehensive and technically accurate maintenance plans and documentation. Support safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities within the plant environment. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in maintenance planning and/or maintenance coordination. Experience developing maintenance work packages, job plans and work scopes . Mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook . Ability to work independently and effectively in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Comfortable performing field walks and working in a plant environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience using SAP for maintenance planning/work management. Experience in a chemical plant, refinery, petrochemical, LNG or other heavy industrial environment .
Background or hands-on knowledge in:
Pipefitting Piping systems / piping design Mechanical maintenance Industrial equipment maintenance Experience planning maintenance work involving pumps, valves, heat exchangers and piping systems. Active TWIC Card strongly preferred. Candidates without a TWIC may still be considered. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Planner / Maintenance Work Planner who understands how to take a maintenance work order from initial scope through execution readiness. Candidates with backgrounds such as Maintenance Planner, Mechanical Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Work Planner, Turnaround Planner or similar industrial maintenance roles are encouraged to apply. Experience in chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, oil & gas or heavy industrial facilities is highly desirable.
