Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Diesel Shop Foreman to lead our heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance team. Duties Supervise and coordinate the activities of technicians engaged in heavy equipment, truck, and vehicle repairs, ensuring timely completion of work orders. Diagnose complex mechanical issues using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes. Oversee maintenance and repair of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other mechanical systems on various equipment including farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to air brake systems, heavy lifting procedures, welding operations, tire service, and equipment maintenance. Manage inventory levels for parts and supplies; order components as needed to minimize downtime. Conduct quality inspections on completed repairs; verify proper assembly and calibration of equipment using power tools and precision alignment tools. Provide mentorship and training for technicians on new technologies such as Caterpillar or heavy truck repair techniques; promote continuous improvement initiatives. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel mechanics, automotive diagnostics, transmissions, suspension systems, hydraulics, electrical systems repair, and vehicle systems troubleshooting. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals; proficient with automotive electrical system repair and welding techniques. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment safely; experienced in welding and soldering for equipment repair. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing a team of mechanics or service technicians in a fast-paced environment.
