We are seeking an Operations and Maintenance Manager to lead day-to-day food production and packaging across all three businesses while keeping production equipment reliable, safe, and food-compliant. This hands-on leader combines production and packaging management with equipment maintenance - planning and running the lines, managing the team, operating and troubleshooting equipment, and driving improvements - all while upholding the SQF and food-safety standards our customers rely on. Key Responsibilities Production & Packaging Operations Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production and packaging across the malting, milling, and food operations to meet output, quality, food-safety, and on-time targets. Monitor yields, throughput, labor, and waste; drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost. Maintenance & Reliability Develop, implement, and manage a preventative maintenance (PM) program for all production, packaging, and facility equipment (e.g., mills, sifters, conveyors, augers, baggers/packaging lines, dust collection, steeping/germination and kiln systems, boilers, compressors, and HVAC); schedule and document PM in a CMMS. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls issues to minimize downtime; conduct rootcause analysis and corrective action. Track reliability KPIs (uptime, PM completion, mean time between failures) and maintain a critical spare parts inventory. Food Safety & SQF Compliance Ensure production, packaging, and maintenance activities meet SQF, GMP, and HACCP requirements - including food-grade lubricants, hygienic/sanitary practices, control of tools and parts, and equipment calibration. Maintain audit-ready documentation and actively support SQF, regulatory, and customer audits; uphold allergen control, sanitation, and foreign-material prevention across all sites. Projects & Continuous Improvement Support the specification, installation, commissioning, and start-up of new equipment, lines, and facility projects, including layout, utility, and capital planning input. Lead efficiency, reliability, and process-improvement initiatives across the three operations.

Facilities, Safety & Team Oversee building systems and utilities (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, steam, water, dust/air handling) and general facility upkeep; manage permits, inspections, and OSHA/local-code compliance. Champion a safe work environment; maintain lockout/tagout, machine guarding, PPE, hot work, and confined-space programs and training. Supervise the production and maintenance teams and outside contractors; manage schedules, the operating and maintenance budget, and purchasing. Required 5+ years in food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing spanning both production/packaging management and equipment maintenance, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role. Demonstrated experience managing food production and packaging operations (scheduling, staffing, throughput, and quality). Experience overseeing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting food manufacturing equipment in an SQFcertified facility. Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills; able to read schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs. Working knowledge of SQF, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA requirements as they apply to production and maintenance. Active Filters Operations and Maintenance Manager Holyoke, MA Clear All Apply
