This position is ideal for a practical problem-solver who can diagnose and complete repairs, coordinate outside contractors, and proactively address maintenance needs before they disrupt operations. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Perform basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, and general building repairs within the limits of applicable licensing requirements. Diagnose equipment problems and determine whether work should be completed internally or by an outside service provider. Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program for production equipment and facility systems. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and facility-related issues. Source, evaluate, and coordinate contractors, repair technicians, and other service providers. Obtain and compare quotes, schedule work, and monitor contractors for safety, quality, cost, and completion. Maintain maintenance records, equipment documentation, service histories, and preventive maintenance schedules. Manage spare parts, tools, repair supplies, and critical replacement components. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, workplace safety, energy efficiency, and facility conditions. Assist with equipment installations, relocations, modifications, and facility improvement projects. Support safety programs and help ensure compliance with OSHA, fire, environmental, and other applicable requirements. Communicate maintenance priorities, equipment status, and project progress to production and company leadership. Maintain the building exterior, grounds, utilities, lighting, doors, docks, HVAC, and other facility systems. Assist with emergency repairs and occasional after-hours issues when necessary. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability. Working knowledge of basic electrical systems, motors, controls, mechanical drives, pneumatics, plumbing, and general facility maintenance. Experience maintaining or repairing equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Ability to read basic electrical diagrams, equipment manuals, and mechanical drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify the root cause of equipment or facility issues. Experience finding, evaluating, and managing outside contractors and service providers. Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests based on safety, production impact, urgency, and cost. Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook and Excel for communication, scheduling, recordkeeping, and basic reporting. Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of maintenance and facility needs. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, skilled-trades experience, or a related degree is preferred. Prior supervisory or maintenance-management experience is preferred. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and move throughout the facility. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work around production equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance equipment. Willingness to respond to occasional urgent or after-hours maintenance needs.
