Role Summary A prominent automotive components manufacturer based in Canton, Michigan, is looking for a skilled Maintenance Supervisor or Superintendent to oversee maintenance functions within a sophisticated, automated production facility. We are seeking a candidate who possesses deep expertise in the automotive sector and practical leadership experience involving laser welding, robotics, and FANUC robotic platforms. Core Duties Direct the daily tasks and performance of the maintenance team. Ensure peak equipment performance to help the facility meet production targets. Perform diagnostics and upkeep on automated manufacturing machinery. Deliver specialized technical guidance for robotic welding processes and FANUC systems. Maintain and troubleshoot laser welding hardware and associated production tools. Manage the execution of predictive and preventive maintenance schedules. Reduce production interruptions by addressing equipment failures rapidly. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to foster effective solutions for technical challenges. Help maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable working environment for the entire team. Drive equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects to enhance operational outcomes. Essential Qualifications Proven background in automotive manufacturing. Prior experience in a leadership capacity, such as a Maintenance Superintendent or Supervisor. Technical proficiency with FANUC robotic systems. Expertise in laser welding and robotic welding technologies. Advanced mechanical, electrical, and industrial diagnostic capabilities. Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide maintenance staff to improve team performance. Availability to maintain a Monday-Friday afternoon or split-shift schedule starting near noon.
