They're built by great leaders. Feldmann Imports is looking for an experienced Automotive Service Manager who knows how to build strong teams, create accountability, improve performance, and deliver the level of service expected from a luxury automotive brand. This is more than managing repair orders and overseeing the day-to-day operation. We're looking for a leader who will develop people, strengthen processes, drive results, and continuously raise the standard for both our employees and our customers. And just as importantly, we believe strong leaders need strong support. Our Service Manager works closely with an experienced Fixed Operations Director who is equally committed to having a strong leadership partner and support system within the department. This is an opportunity to join a leadership structure built around collaboration — not one person trying to carry everything alone. Compensation, Schedule & Work-Life Balance $120,000-$180,000 annually (salary plus monthly incentives), based on experience and qualifications Full-time leadership position On-site at Feldmann Imports in Bloomington, Minnesota Monday-Friday schedule Service is closed Saturdays and Sundays — weekends off because leadership roles should still allow for work-life balance What We Offer Medical, dental, vision, short term disability and life insurance Paid time off Employee vehicle and service discounts Paid training and ongoing professional development Opportunities for continued growth and advancement Long-term career stability with an established, family-owned dealership Who We Are Feldmann Imports is a family-owned and operated Mercedes-Benz dealership serving Bloomington and the surrounding Twin Cities community.
Our mission is simple:
We strive for excellence in everything we do while keeping a servant heart to leave a lasting legacy. That philosophy extends beyond how we serve our customers. It influences how we lead our employees, develop our teams, hold ourselves accountable, and make decisions for the future of our dealership. The Opportunity As our Service Manager, you will have responsibility for the people, performance, processes, customer experience, and operational success of the Service Department. While the Service Manager oversees our Detail and Service Valet departments, you won't be managing those teams without support. We have an established Detail Lead and two Lead Valets who provide day-to-day leadership and coordination for their teams. You'll provide the overall direction, development, and accountability while having experienced frontline leaders in place to help execute it. We also have an experienced Shop Foreman who works directly with our technicians and provides additional day-to-day leadership within the shop. The Shop Foreman manages and discusses technician productivity and efficiency, helps identify performance opportunities, and partners with the Service Manager to drive overall shop performance. We also believe your time should be spent leading the Service Department—not managing the building. Feldmann Imports has a dedicated Facilities Manager, which means the Service Manager is not responsible for building maintenance, ordering general facility supplies, coordinating snow removal, or handling the countless facility-related responsibilities that often get added to dealership management positions. Your focus can stay where it belongs: your people, your customers, and the performance of the Service Department. We're looking for someone who wants to make it better — and will have the support to do it. What You'll Be Responsible For Lead, coach, mentor, and develop service advisors, technicians, detail Lead, lead valets, detailers, and service valets. Establish clear expectations and create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Identify employee strengths, performance gaps, and development opportunities and create actionable plans for improvement. Partner with the Shop Foreman to monitor and improve technician productivity, efficiency, utilization, and overall shop performance. Optimize repair-order workflow, scheduling, capacity, and communication throughout the department. Monitor department KPIs (hours per RO, recommendation closing rate, hours sold per RO, etc..) and turn performance data into meaningful action. Manage loaner car fleet and facilitate loaner inventory swaps. Ensure that walk around process is adhered to by all Service Advisors. Ensure that all Luma Scanner information is presented and provided to clients by their Service Advisors. Ensure customers receive timely, transparent, and professional communication throughout their service experience. Work closely with the BDC Service Manager to identify areas for improvement and assist with coaching and development, creating a unified leadership approach and ensuring the BDC team feels supported by both the BDC Service Manager and Service Manager. Manage extended warranty schedule and monitor aged RO's ensuring that there are detailed notes. Resolve escalated customer concerns with urgency, empathy, sound judgment, and a focus on long-term customer relationships. Leading daily jumpstart meeting with Service Advisors. Partner with the BDC Service Manager by reviewing Pulse Alerts in Voile to identify real-time coaching and recognition opportunities. Calculating weekly Advisor Payroll. Training and mentoring new Advisors, while coaching in live time. Partner with the Fixed Operations Director, Parts, Sales, BDC, and dealership leadership to improve the complete customer ownership experience. Identify inefficiencies and implement processes that improve both employee and customer experiences. Hold the team accountable while creating an environment where employees have the tools, training, and leadership they need to succeed. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Proven automotive service management experience Demonstrated experience leading both technicians and service advisors Strong understanding of dealership service operations, automotive systems, repair processes, and workflow management Proven ability to coach, develop, and hold employees accountable Track record of improving service department performance and achieving operational goals Strong customer-resolution and relationship-management skills Ability to analyze KPIs and operational data and translate them into action Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment Leadership style built around consistency, accountability, professionalism, and respect Preferred Qualifications Mercedes-Benz dealership experience Luxury automotive experience Experience leading a high-volume service operation Our Hiring Process We believe candidates should know what to expect from the beginning.
