Full-Time Position Summary Cardinal Foods is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations at our frozen sweet potato processing facility. This position leads the maintenance team, ensures production and utility equipment operates safely and reliably, reduces downtime, and supports food safety and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, train, and support maintenance technicians. Maintain and troubleshoot processing equipment, including conveyors, cutters, blanchers, freezers, pumps, motors, and gearboxes. Maintain Pac Mac baggers, including weighing, film-tracking, sealing, sensor, and control systems. Maintain the thermal-fluid-heated fryer, including pumps, burners, heat exchangers, temperature controls, filtration, and oil-handling systems. Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of the high-pressure steam boiler and associated controls, piping, pumps, and water-treatment systems. Maintain the ammonia refrigeration system, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and safety controls. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, sensor, and variable-frequency-drive issues. Manage preventive maintenance, work orders, equipment records, and parts inventory through the CMMS. Respond to equipment failures and coordinate repairs to minimize production downtime. Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, food-safety standards, and sanitary maintenance practices. Support applicable ammonia refrigeration, Process Safety Management, Risk Management Program, boiler, and pressure-vessel requirements. Coordinate contractors, required inspections, shutdown maintenance, equipment installations, and improvement projects. Work closely with production, sanitation, quality assurance, and management. Participate in an on-call schedule for critical equipment and facility emergencies. Qualifications Industrial maintenance leadership experience, preferably in food processing or frozen-food manufacturing. Strong mechanical, electrical, and equipment-troubleshooting skills. Experience with packaging equipment, thermal-fluid systems, steam boilers, or ammonia refrigeration. Working knowledge of PLCs, electrical controls, VFDs, schematics, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software. Understanding of OSHA safety requirements, lockout/tagout, GMPs, and sanitary maintenance practices. Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Technical education or certifications in electrical systems, boilers, HVAC, or industrial refrigeration are preferred. RETA or ammonia refrigeration training is strongly preferred. Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency call-ins. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around industrial equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, noisy, and refrigerated areas while wearing required personal protective equipment. Cardinal Foods is an equal opportunity employer.
