Job Description

Maintenance Manager - Manufacturing VPC Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can lead and develop a maintenance team while also stepping onto the floor to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automation issues when needed. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, supporting production throughput, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively. What You'll Do Lead, develop, and provide daily direction to the maintenance team. Maintain a strong floor presence and provide hands-on troubleshooting support. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, PLC, VFD, pneumatic, conveyor, and automated production equipment. Plan and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance activities. Use CMMS to schedule, track, and improve maintenance performance. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions. Drive initiatives to reduce equipment downtime, scrap, and maintenance costs while increasing throughput. Oversee equipment installations, modifications, repairs, commissioning, and decommissioning. Ensure equipment is operational and ready for production start-ups. Manage maintenance projects from planning through successful completion. Maintain an organized maintenance shop, fabrication area, and critical spare-parts inventory. Manage maintenance inventory and work with vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Monitor and report maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Support Lean manufacturing and other plant improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable government, environmental, and safety regulations. Support facility and grounds maintenance as required. What We're Looking For 3+ years of maintenance management or supervisory experience. 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Experience troubleshooting and/or programming PLCs and VFDs. Experience with industrial automation and automated production equipment. Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Experience using a CMMS. Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, schematics, and technical documentation. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of industrial electrical and safety standards. Fabrication experience. Ability and willingness to work hands-on alongside the maintenance team when necessary. Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime when required for projects or critical equipment issues. Preferred Experience Foam, fiber, textile, or similar continuous-process manufacturing experience. Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) experience. Forklift and scissor-lift training or certification. Confined-space and working-at-heights training. Fire alarm system experience. The Person We're Looking For We're looking for more than someone who can manage a maintenance schedule. We need a leader who understands production equipment, can identify why equipment is failing, and can work with the team to fix the problem correctly. The right candidate will be comfortable leading from the floor, developing maintenance employees, improving preventive maintenance practices, controlling maintenance costs, and continuously asking: What is causing downtime, and what can we do to prevent it from happening again?
