JOB SUMMARY
The Automation & Electrical Supervisor is responsible for leading all electrical, controls, and automation maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment. This role provides technical leadership over high-voltage systems, induction heating, forging lines, heat treatment equipment, robotics, and PLC-based automation systems, while driving continuous improvement in system performance and reliability. Supervisor will supervise, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians. Assign daily work tasks and ensure effective utilization of manpower. Provide technical guidance and support for troubleshooting complex issues. Conduct performance evaluations, training, and skill development plans. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a strong safety culture. Maintain production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensure minimum equipment downtime. Inspect projects to ensure conformity to specifications, direct safety inspections and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure proper methods and procedures are followed to maintain, repair and service equipment, buildings and facilities in compliance with building codes and safety standards.

Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards. Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar's Core Values and Leadership Behaviors. Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar's Stepping Stool of Success Strategy. Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements. Maintain department 5S requirements. Electrical & Automation System Oversight Provide hands-on technical support for complex electrical and control system issues. Lead skill development in PLC programming, robotics, and advanced troubleshooting Oversee maintenance and reliability of High-voltage distribution systems (substation, transformers, switchgear) Oversee induction heating system, power systems, Forging presses and associated controls. Heat treat furnaces, robot system (Fanuc, etc.) Ensure timely response to equipment breakdowns to minimize production impact. Manage contractor activities and ensure quality and safety compliance. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for all electrical and automation equipment Safety and Continuous Improvement Enforce
OSHA, NFPA & NEC
regulation, and plant safety policies Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed. Conduct safety meetings and daily turnover meetings. Provide shift to shift updates to ensure continuity of operations. Track and analyze maintenance KPIs to identify trends and opportunities Drive improvements in maintenance processes, productivity and equipment efficiency Develop and monitor detail overhaul, repair and preventative maintenance schedules for plant equipment and work within budgets given. Maintain IFS and CMMS software and related documentation. Work with maintenance buyer and arrange quotes from contractors Identify, recommend, create training activities for the department Complete performance evaluation for maintenance personnel Lead electrical and automation aspects of capital projects and equipment upgrades Manage installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment Ensure accurate work order documentation in the
CMMS. ACADEMIC / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field preferred. Industrial Maintenance experience in Heavy manufacturing (in automotive, forging, steel etc.) Licensed Electrician or Journeyman Certification preferred NFPA 70E/Arc Flash Certification preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Essential Skills Strong knowledge of High-voltage systems and power distribution. Induction heating systems Controls and Advanced PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley,Siemens,etc.). Experience with robotics programming and troubleshooting Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet, TCP/IP Profibus Data Highway, ControlNet.) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic and control diagrams. Familiar with drives, motors, servo systems and instrumentation. Strong leadership and team-building skills Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft and other software applications Ability to read completed inspection forms to ensure all maintenance repair and inspection tasks have been adequately completed by their workers. Study assembly drawings for equipment to determine what parts are required and how they go together. Possess excellent communications kills to speak with managers and supervisors to explain the progress of jobs and to obtain instructions and tasks. Discuss ongoing work with workers they employ and supervise. Ability to prioritize tasks to maintain efficiency. Establish work schedules and shift priorities and appointments to accommodate emergencies and cancellations. Determine how best to organize work to meet deliverables and timelines of team-based projects while supervising multiple job assignments. Use judgment and experience to coordinate and integrate job tasks with other workers and to decide job priorities. Ability to work independently and to provide professional guidance and oversight to maintenance and installation tasks and projects. Assume a wide variety of roles to coordinate job tasks with those of junior workers, co-workers and subcontractors. Maintain continuous learning to be kept up-to-date with new technologies, new information and regulatory changes within industry. Learn about new products and technologies by reading manuals, magazines and other materials at work, through on-the-job experience, and through discussions with workers. Ability to use paretos for failure analysis and diagnostic.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working Conditions Work performed in a manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, heat and moving equipment. Requires walking, standing and occasional lifting (up to 50lbs) Must be available for overtime and emergency call-ins could be required
