Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee and coordinate maintenance operations in our Grand Forks facility. In this vital role, you will support & ensure the reliable operation of equipment and storage systems. As well as be responsible for performing preventative maintenance troubleshooting equipment issues, maintain storage facility systems and complete repairs to ensure efficient plant operations and product quality. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of processing, conveying, and packaging equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including replacement of worn or damaged bearings. Replace, repair, and lace conveyor belts as needed. Inspect and replace damaged rollers, pulleys, and conveyor components. Troubleshoot and replace conveyor motors and related equipment. Utilize basic electrical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and repairs. Maintain accurate records of daily repairs, equipment issues, and preventative maintenance activities. Operate a payloader for snow removal, site maintenance, and potato handling operations. Assist with the maintenance of potato storage facilities, including routine inspections, basic repairs, and troubleshooting of environmental systems such as ventilation equipment, fans, sensors, and related controls. Coordinate with third-party service providers when specialized repairs or technical support are required. Work with the Plant Manager to identify maintenance priorities and improve equipment reliability. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, industrial, or production environment preferred. Working knowledge of conveyors, bearings, motors, belts, and related equipment. Basic electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to learn new maintenance procedures and equipment repair techniques. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Experience working with agricultural storage facilities, ventilation systems, or environmental controls is beneficial but not required.
