This is not a desk-based maintenance management position . We are looking for someone who can troubleshoot equipment, turn wrenches, diagnose electrical problems, install and relocate machinery, fabricate solutions when needed, and keep a manufacturing plant running safely and reliably. LFA operates a specialized wire manufacturing and metal finishing facility with wire drawing, rolling, plating, heat-treatment, material-handling, and other industrial production equipment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production machinery Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment problems Troubleshoot motors, VFDs, relays, contactors, sensors, switches, controls, and industrial electrical systems Perform electrical repairs and modifications within appropriate qualifications and code requirements Set up, install, level, align, commission, relocate, and remove production machinery Assist with machinery rigging, equipment moves, utility connections, and production-line changes Coordinate electricians, riggers, contractors, and equipment manufacturers when outside support is required Perform mechanical fabrication and equipment modifications as needed Welding and metal fabrication ability is strongly preferred Maintain wire drawing machines, rolling equipment, plating lines, furnaces, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and related manufacturing equipment Establish and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program Develop lubrication schedules and ensure machinery is properly lubricated and serviced Maintain appropriate inventories of oils, greases, lubricants, filters, belts, bearings, seals, and critical spare parts Monitor equipment for wear, leaks, vibration, overheating, abnormal noise, and other early signs of failure Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and work directly with production personnel to restore operations Identify recurring failures and implement permanent corrective solutions rather than repeated temporary repairs Support the installation and integration of new manufacturing equipment as LFA continues expanding its capabilities Maintain facility infrastructure including electrical distribution, compressed air, ventilation, plumbing, and related plant systems Maintain organized maintenance records, equipment manuals, service schedules, and spare-parts information Keep maintenance areas, tools, parts, and supplies organized and properly maintained Continuously identify opportunities to improve equipment uptime, safety, reliability, and plant efficiency Qualifications Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting experience is essential Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience Experience with 480V / 3-phase industrial electrical systems strongly preferred Ability to troubleshoot motors, VFDs, control circuits, sensors, relays, and industrial machinery Experience installing, setting up, aligning, and relocating manufacturing equipment Understanding of machinery lubrication and preventive maintenance practices Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and mechanical drawings Welding and fabrication experience preferred Rigging and machinery-moving experience strongly preferred Experience in manufacturing, metalworking, wire, plating, machining, or a similar industrial environment preferred Ability to independently diagnose problems and determine practical solutions Comfortable working directly on equipment and alongside production personnel The Person We're Looking For We want someone who develops a deep understanding of how every major piece of equipment in the plant works and what it takes to keep it running. When a machine goes down, this person can diagnose the problem, make the repair, and get production moving again. When equipment needs to be moved or a new machine arrives, this person can help determine where it goes, how it gets there, what utilities it needs, and what is required to put it into production. Just as importantly, the goal isn't simply to react to breakdowns. This person will build the preventive maintenance, lubrication, spare-parts, and equipment-care systems necessary to prevent failures before they happen. LFA continues to invest heavily in new manufacturing, testing, and process equipment. This position will have a direct role in bringing that equipment online and building a more capable, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operation.
