Job Description

Maintenance Supervisor The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing the maintenance team while ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities, coordinates maintenance projects, supports production objectives, manages departmental administration, and promotes a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and support maintenance projects, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and equipment improvement initiatives. Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance team members through training, performance feedback, and evaluations. Coordinate daily shift handover meetings, communicate project updates, assign work, and establish corrective actions when required. Manage departmental administrative tasks, including overtime approvals, employee scheduling updates, and vacation planning. Monitor labor costs and overtime to support maintenance budget and cost-containment objectives. Conduct workplace inspections to identify and address safety, GMP, equipment, and production-related concerns. Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures. Collaborate with production and other departments to minimize downtime and achieve operational goals. Qualifications Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing or bakery industry experience is considered a strong asset. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience in mechanical and electrical systems. Working knowledge of automation systems, PLCs, instrumentation, industrial controls, robotics, and bulk handling systems. Experience with facility maintenance, plant equipment, maintenance planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Proficiency with CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
