ASAP is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation Planner to support one of the largest petroleum refining operations in the Midwest located in Lima, Ohio. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for a maintenance planning professional who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment where safety, reliability, and operational excellence are top priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, estimating, coordinating, and tracking electrical and instrumentation maintenance work while partnering with Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing, and Scheduling teams to maximize efficiency, cost control, and safe work execution. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Lima, OH , as this position is onsite, 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage work requests received from authorized maintenance service users. Review, estimate, and develop work packages for electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities. Coordinate all aspects of assigned work requests, including labor, tools, materials, equipment, and contractor resources. Plan, estimate costs, and request the personnel, materials, and equipment necessary for approval and execution of maintenance work. Track work order progress and maintain accurate records of labor, materials, equipment, and associated costs. Develop detailed scopes of work and preventive maintenance plans to support safe and reliable plant operations. Ensure all work plans comply with established safety practices, procedures, and company policies. Maintain maintenance records essential to the Planning and Scheduling Department. Work collaboratively with Maintenance Supervisors, Operations, Purchasing, and Scheduling teams to coordinate and execute planned maintenance activities efficiently. Assist the scheduling team in organizing and communicating daily and weekly maintenance plans. Promote an efficient work environment that encourages teamwork, employee participation, and leadership development. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while actively participating in safety meetings and continuous safety initiatives. Support planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost control efforts to improve maintenance performance and operational reliability.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 3-5 years of hands-on instrumentation field experience, including troubleshooting and repair. Extensive working knowledge of electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair practices. Experience developing maintenance work plans, scopes of work, and preventive maintenance strategies. Experience using SAP or another enterprise maintenance management (CMMS) system. Strong planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost control skills. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to maintenance personnel, operations, and leadership. Ability to work onsite in Lima, OH.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related technical discipline. 8-10 years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience. Maintenance supervisory experience. Journeyman Certification. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Previous experience ordering materials and services, preparing and evaluating bid packages, and coordinating supplier/vendor contracts. General knowledge of refinery maintenance practices and safe work practices in an oil refinery environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera.

$52.88 - $69.71 per hour
