Job Description

Position Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations within a manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance team, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensuring facility equipment and systems remain safe, reliable, and operational. The Maintenance Supervisor will work closely with Production, Engineering, and other facility teams to minimize equipment downtime, maintain an effective preventive maintenance program, and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems, previous experience supervising an hourly maintenance workforce, and the ability to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the activities of maintenance employees across assigned shifts and areas. Plan and prioritize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, Engineering, and other departments to minimize equipment downtime and production interruptions. Review, assign, and monitor maintenance work orders to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance procedures for facility and production equipment. Monitor equipment performance and maintenance history to identify recurring issues and recommend repairs, modifications, or equipment replacement. Conduct regular inspections of maintenance work to ensure quality, productivity, and compliance with established procedures. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues and provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel as needed. Ensure maintenance employees have the tools, equipment, manuals, drawings, parts, and procedures necessary to perform their work safely and efficiently. Maintain appropriate spare parts and maintenance inventory levels to support ongoing facility operations. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations. Promote and enforce safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, and other applicable industrial safety procedures. Coordinate employee participation in required safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training programs. Investigate maintenance-related accidents and near misses, complete required documentation, and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities, equipment history, overtime, expenses, and departmental performance. Prepare monthly reports summarizing maintenance activities, expenditures, equipment performance, and other key metrics. Assist with the preparation and management of the annual Maintenance Department operating budget. Recommend appropriate maintenance staffing levels based on facility and production requirements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve equipment reliability, safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness. Maintain clean, safe, and orderly maintenance work areas. Lead employee meetings and maintain effective communication across shifts and departments. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations . Previous experience supervising or leading an industrial maintenance or hourly workforce. Working knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems. General knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair practices. Familiarity with industrial safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout and confined space entry. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to effectively prioritize multiple maintenance and operational demands. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability and willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and alternate shifts as operational needs require. Ability to work 3rd shift on an ongoing basis . Preferred Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical, industrial, engineering, business, or related field. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for preventive maintenance and work-order management. OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification or willingness to obtain certification. Experience managing a maintenance department budget. Experience planning or leading equipment upgrades or capital improvement projects. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Experience identifying and implementing equipment reliability and maintenance cost improvements. Work Environment This position works primarily within an industrial manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production equipment, maintenance personnel, and facility operations. The role requires the ability to respond to equipment issues and changing production priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, equipment reliability, and operational continuity. The position requires ongoing 3rd-shift availability , with additional hours or weekend work as needed to support facility operations.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
