POSITION SUMMARY

FirmaPak is expanding our New Castle, PA manufacturing operation, including the addition of plastic blow molding production, and we're looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to help support this growth. This is a key leadership role responsible for the reliability, maintenance, and performance of our production equipment and facility. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance function while remaining hands-on in troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment issues. This individual will play an important role in the installation, start-up, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our blow molding equipment and related auxiliary systems, partnering closely with Production and Engineering to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, quality, and throughput. The successful candidate will bring direct blow molding experience, ideally with extrusion blow molding and/or reheat stretch blow molding equipment and processes, strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to build effective preventive and predictive maintenance practices in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Lead the day-to-day maintenance function for production equipment, facility systems, and utilities. Support the installation, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of plastic blow molding equipment and related auxiliary systems. Provide hands-on technical support to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls-related equipment issues. Troubleshoot PLCs, electrical controls, sensors, motors, drives, and automated manufacturing systems to minimize production downtime. Develop, implement, and maintain effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs based on equipment requirements and production schedules. Diagnose recurring equipment failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions. Partner with Production and Engineering to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, quality, and throughput. Perform and/or oversee equipment repairs, modifications, fabrication, and installation. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and other technical documentation. Coordinate and supervise outside contractors, equipment manufacturers, and service technicians during equipment installations, repairs, and facility projects. Establish and maintain appropriate inventories of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies. Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and control maintenance costs. Support capital equipment installations, facility upgrades, and other technical projects. Ensure maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and electrical safety practices. Train, coach, and develop maintenance personnel to strengthen technical capabilities, troubleshooting practices, and overall performance. Provide emergency and unscheduled equipment support as required to maintain production operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Direct hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting plastic blow molding equipment required; experience with extrusion blow molding and/or reheat stretch blow molding equipment strongly preferred. Strong understanding of the blow molding process and the relationship between equipment performance, process conditions, and product quality. 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with PLCs, controls, sensors, motors, drives, and industrial electrical systems. Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair capabilities. Experience with blow molding auxiliary equipment such as compressors, chillers, material handling/conveying systems, grinders, and related equipment. Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and start-up. Demonstrated experience developing and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Strong root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals. Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout. Ability to effectively manage vendors, contractors, spare-parts inventory, and maintenance costs. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations. Associate degree or technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Machine Tool Technology, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 40 pounds.
