Shift Fabricator Job Description The Shift Fabricator plays a key role in a small die shop, using manual machining and fabrication skills to produce high-quality dies from blueprint drawings. This position involves operating a variety of machining and fabrication equipment, interpreting technical drawings, and performing light welding work to support custom die fabrication projects. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprint drawings to determine specifications, dimensions, and materials required for die fabrication. Create dies and fabricated components directly from blueprint drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design requirements. Operate manual machining equipment, including drills, mills, lathes, and presses, to cut, shape, and finish metal parts. Perform fabrication tasks using power tools and manual processes to assemble, modify, and repair dies and related components. Conduct light welding work, including MIG and stick welding, with a focus on aluminum and other metals as needed. Inspect completed parts and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and proper fit, making adjustments or rework as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Castle, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
