Job Description
Operations Manager-Athletic Equipment Installation/Repair/Maintenance Job Summary:
As an Operations Manager for Athletic Equipment installation, repair and maintenance, you will be responsible for analyzing equipment needs, preparing cost estimates, assisting the sales team in finding the best solutions for customer needs, and managing project logistics and scheduling . Equipment includes, but is not limited to, basketball backstops, volleyball equipment, bleachers, divider curtains, lighting, and video boards. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, customer service, and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Support:
Review and interpret requests from sales staff for athletic equipment, bleachers, lighting, and video boards.
Scope Development:
Develop detailed scopes of work for estimates, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
Technical Take-offs:
Perform technical and quantity take-offs from architectural plans and specifications.
Clarification Requests:
Request additional information to clarify details and scopes as necessary for accurate estimates.
Vendor Sourcing:
Source materials and pricing from vendors, maintaining relationships to ensure competitive rates.
Cost Estimation:
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates based on project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with sales teams to ensure accurate scopes of work are covered and appropriate products are sourced.
Product Knowledge:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various vendor products and specifications.
Customer Interaction:
Address inquiries and recommend equipment solutions that meet customer needs in a timely manner exceeding customer expectations.
Proposal Preparation:
Prepare proposals, bids, and review contracts for both large and small-scale projects.
Project Management:
Prepare, submit, and track project submittals to completion, ensuring all documentation is accurate.
Procurement:
Procure products and services required for projects in a timely manner.
Project Tracking:
Track and manage ongoing projects to ensure materials and services are available to meet project schedules.
Communication:
Communicate with suppliers to obtain accurate lead times and best pricing for equipment and services.
Leadership:
Develop and manage teams and communication for successful project completion.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience in estimating and managing athletic equipment projects is required.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of athletic equipment and related installation , repair and maintenance methods.
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and understand technical specifications and architectural blueprints.
Site Visits:
Capability to perform project site visits for accurate measurements and installation assessments.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Communication & Leadership Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Proficiency:
