Maintenance Manager Job Description Oversee the installation, repairs, and improvements of the production lines, plant equipment and the building. Hourly wage $30-35/hour Mon-Fri 7am-330pm
Key Responsibilities Plant Maintenance:
Directing daily maintenance activities, including both reactive (emergency repairs) and proactive (preventive maintenance) tasks.
Team Leadership:
Hire, train, supervise, and mentor maintenance staƯ to ensure high-quality, safe, and eƯicient repairs.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety (e.g., OSHA), environmental regulations and building codes.
Technical Troubleshooting:
Diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical malfunctions and coordinating major machine repairs.
Budget & Spare Parts:
Plan and manage the maintenance budget, including ordering parts, tools, and supplies, and optimizing maintenance costs. Keep an organized inventory of critical spare parts.
Contractor Oversight:
Coordinating external contractors and negotiating contracts with external vendors for building maintenance.
Reporting & Coordination:
Reports to the Plant Manager. Must communicate clearly and coordinate with the production supervisors to schedule repairs on equipment.
Key Skills and Qualifications Education:
Relevant technical degree or a degree in Engineering/Facility Management.
Experience:
5+ years in maintenance or engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Must be familiar with mixers, extruders and cryogenic grinding.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical/mechanical systems and facility maintenance.
Hard Skills:
Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Excellent decision-making skills and ability to manage a diverse team and collaborate with other departments.
