Lead the people. Coordinate the work. Keep the plant running. A large industrial manufacturing facility is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to lead its pipefitter craft and oversee the maintenance work associated with piping, boilers, fluid systems, and related equipment. This is a supervisory position first. The right person will know the trade, but this is not a job for someone whose primary goal is to spend the day turning wrenches. You will be responsible for directing the crew, planning work, coordinating with other maintenance disciplines, keeping jobs moving, and making sure work is completed safely and correctly. The facility operates in a team environment and has dedicated supervisors across its maintenance trades. This supervisor will own the pipefitter side of the operation and work closely with other maintenance leaders and plant management. What You'll Do Supervise pipefitters and coordinate daily maintenance activities Plan and assign work based on maintenance priorities, equipment needs, and production requirements Coordinate planned maintenance, outages, and urgent repair work Keep crews organized and accountable for safe, timely completion of assignments Work with other maintenance supervisors to coordinate jobs involving multiple trades Monitor work in progress and verify that completed work meets expectations Provide technical direction when troubleshooting piping, boilers, pumps, valves, and related systems Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs Help identify recurring equipment problems and drive corrective action Coordinate materials, parts, tools, contractors, and other resources needed to complete work Promote safe work practices, good housekeeping, and adherence to plant procedures Work effectively with union employees, maintenance leadership, engineering, operations, and plant management Support major maintenance events and equipment evaluations Participate in an on-call rotation approximately once every 9 weeks Be available for extended hours during scheduled maintenance days or significant plant upsets when needed What We're Looking For Supervisory or leadership experience in an industrial maintenance environment Strong background with pipefitting, boilers, piping systems, pumps, valves, or related mechanical systems Enough hands-on trade experience to understand the work, evaluate problems, and provide direction to the crew Experience assigning work, coordinating crews, and managing maintenance priorities Experience working in a union manufacturing or industrial environment is valuable Welding experience or certification Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance programs Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance work management Ability to read blueprints, equipment drawings, technical documents, and engineering information Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and keep work moving without constant direction The Schedule Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM-4:00 PM The position participates in an on-call rotation approximately once every 9 weeks. Additional time may be required during scheduled maintenance shutdowns or significant plant operating issues.
