Job Description
A well-established heavy highway and civil construction company is hiring a Heavy Equipment Service Manager / Shop Foreman in Lancaster, SC to lead shop and field service operations. Duties & Responsibilities Lead daily shop and field service operations, balancing preventive maintenance, repair orders, inspections, service calls, and jobsite equipment breakdowns. Prioritize and assign mechanics based on urgency, skill level, equipment needs, and production impact, adjusting assignments as priorities change. Serve as the primary shop contact for jobsite equipment failures, assess repair needs, dispatch service resources, and communicate status updates to operations leadership. Provide technical direction, training, and coaching to diesel mechanics, reviewing repair quality and troubleshooting direction while leading the operation rather than serving as the primary repair technician. Coordinate parts and vendor support, monitor maintenance and repair costs, and maintain accurate work orders, service records, and equipment maintenance history. Maintain a safe, organized shop, inspect tools and work areas, and reinforce PPE requirements and safe work practices with the safety team.
