$39,000 annually Position Overview An established commercial cleaning company is seeking a highly organized and proactive Area Service Manager to oversee day-to-day operations throughout its Houston service territory. This position is responsible for managing cleaning personnel, maintaining appropriate staffing, ensuring consistent service delivery, upholding quality standards, and strengthening client relationships. The Area Service Manager plays an essential role in ensuring that assigned facilities are properly staffed, inspected, supplied, and maintained according to company standards. This position requires strong leadership, sound judgment, effective problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellent client service. Key Responsibilities Staffing and Coverage Recruit, onboard, and train cleaning personnel based on operational needs. Ensure vacancies, call-offs, and no-shows are covered. Step in to cover cleaning assignments when necessary. Coordinate schedules to maintain appropriate coverage at all assigned client locations. Supervise and support evening field personnel. Team Management Supervise, train, and support cleaning personnel and service vendors. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment centered on accountability and teamwork. Address performance concerns and provide coaching when necessary. Attend and participate in weekly team meetings. Quality Control and Inspections Conduct routine onsite inspections at client facilities. Ensure cleaning services meet established company standards. Prepare weekly inspection reports and operational updates. Conduct periodic service reviews with client contacts. Assign tasks and verify that all work has been completed properly. Client Relations Maintain strong client relationships through regular and professional communication. Respond promptly to client concerns, service requests, and operational issues. Ensure urgent client needs are handled quickly and professionally. Provide photographic documentation of completed work when requested. Operational Management Manage daily service activity across assigned client accounts. Monitor service performance using the company-designated operations platform. Communicate assignments, updates, concerns, and progress through the company's team communication system. Document operational concerns, actions taken, and outcomes through the appropriate internal reporting channels. Timekeeping and Reporting Verify and update cleaning personnel and technician hours using the company's time-entry process. Monitor employee activity, task completion, and required photo uploads. Ensure labor hours and job-performance information are reported accurately. Inventory and Equipment Management Order, deliver, and manage cleaning supplies and inventory. Maintain appropriate supply levels at all assigned service locations. Ensure towels, dust mops, and other reusable materials are properly cleaned and delivered. Inspect equipment regularly and ensure it remains in safe operating condition. Operational Improvement Identify opportunities for additional services or project work. Take measurements and assess locations for potential supplemental cleaning services. Recommend improvements to workflow efficiency and productivity across assigned accounts. Training and Development Train cleaning personnel on company procedures, safety requirements, and service expectations. Identify performance or skill gaps and provide ongoing coaching and development. Health and Safety Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety standards. Conduct safety training and reinforce safe working practices. Report accidents and incidents promptly and assist with corrective action when necessary. Qualifications Previous experience in operations management, facilities services, or commercial cleaning supervision. Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred. Strong leadership and personnel-management abilities. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple locations, assignments, and priorities. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Familiarity with employee scheduling, timekeeping, inspection, and operational reporting systems. Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices, equipment, and products. Ability to work independently and respond promptly to operational needs. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned Houston territory. Availability to respond to staffing and service issues outside standard business hours when necessary.
