Job Description

The Maintenance Director Williamsburg Retirement is hiring a Maintenance Director to keep our senior living community safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. This is a hands-on, onsite role that also requires planning, coordination, and consistent follow-through so work is completed correctly and on time. Key responsibilities include completing and overseeing repairs and upkeep across apartments and common areas; handling plumbing, basic electrical, drywall, painting, trim/carpentry, and carpet cleaning; planning and managing improvement projects (timelines, materials, vendors, and updates to leadership); and supervising a full-time maintenance team member while prioritizing work effectively.
Required skills/qualifications:
Experience in maintenance, facilities, or skilled trades Working knowledge of plumbing (toilets, shut-off valves) and basic electrical (fixtures, outlets) Strong drywall repair, high-quality painting, and carpentry/trim skills Comfortable managing multiple projects with clear organization and accountability Pay is $26-28/hr. Your Typical Shift Your day starts with a quick scan of open requests and a simple plan for what to handle first. You'll move between resident apartments and shared spaces, checking in respectfully, keeping communication clear, and leaving each area noticeably better than you found it. Midday often includes coordinating a vendor delivery or mapping out the next project's steps so nothing stalls. You'll wrap up by confirming progress, updating leadership on timelines, and setting the next day up for a smooth start.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9-5, with alternating on-call weekends.
