A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

Job DescriptionSummary:
Improve the maintenance work force productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. Prepares reports for management. Tracks and monitors cost and identifies variance to budgeted plans. Comprehensive planning including but not limited to:ResearchingScoping of workEstimating of material and labor (internal and external) job requirementsDeveloping task instructionsIdentifying tool and equipment requirementsDeveloping job material listPM and Standard Job Plan DevelopmentMRO Supply Chain CoordinationStock management including determining items to stock and QOHCreation of purchase requisitions for planned workCreation of stock reservations for planned workPick Ticket creation for planned workAssist Storeroom function in the kitting and staging of job material requirementsCoordinating with operations, purchasing, storeroom, maintenance personnel and maintenance managementManage rebuild parts programManage reporting metrics including PM analysis, Break down analysis, and labor utilization analysisActive participation on maintenance and repair budget forecasting and budget trackingMaintain a solid understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
Supervise the work order system designed to establish priority and control over maintenance request from plant personnel. Ensures that work order requests are completed by the assigned deadline.
Participate with reliability teams on improvement projects particularly associated with Proactive Maintenance Plans (PM/PdM).Work cross functionally and collaboratively in a wide range of activities.
Utilize maintenance strategies to eliminate failures.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates the ability for independent decision-making.
Must be flexible and responsive to the business needs.
All other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications5+ years of maintenance experienceKnowledgeable in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CMMSTotal Productive Maintenance (TPM) experience a plus, but not a requirementStrong Electrical/Mechanical aptitude.
Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
Effective communication and people management skills.

Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment and assistance. Subject to fluctuating temperatures within in the work facility, as impacted by the weather.
