Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Planning Associate is an essential contributor to BYK's Planning Department, supporting residential and commercial projects with documentation handling, permit logistics, and coordination support. From organizing materials and submitting applications to tracking milestones and stakeholder communication, this role ensures that development efforts are efficient, compliant, and well-documented.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Residential & Permit Administration Prepare building permit applications and supporting documentation Drawing site plans Create digital job folders and assemble field site boxes Maintain subcontractor and client contract records Track proposal signatures and log change orders Prepare residential utility applications for custom and plat homes Track building permit submittals and approvals Development Planning Support Update Notion Workflows and schedules Record meeting minutes and generate action items Prepare utility applications and track submittals Compile permit packages and coordinate submissions Support consultant and stakeholder communication across projects
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in permitting, project coordination, or construction administration Familiarity with building codes and submittal processes Detail-oriented recordkeeping and task tracking skills Comfortable navigating planning systems and managing timelines As the Planning Associate, you're the operations driver behind every permit, folder, and deadline—ensuring BYK's planning work stays organized, accountable, and ahead of schedule.
