Job Description
Crown Auto Group Automotive Service Manager / Lane Manager Overview Crown Auto Group is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager / Lane Manager to oversee the daily operation of a dealership's service department. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for service department performance, customer satisfaction, technician productivity, workflow, and profitability. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and hold service advisors and technicians accountable for performance. Manage daily service lane operations, customer flow, appointments, and repair-order activity. Assist advisors with customer concerns, repair estimates, declined services, and difficult situations. Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, dispatching, and shop workflow. Review repair orders for accuracy, profitability, and proper documentation. Work closely with the Parts Department and other dealership departments to keep repairs moving efficiently. Monitor CSI, customer satisfaction, customer retention, and service comebacks. Track key service department metrics including labor sales, gross profit, hours per RO, effective labor rate, and technician efficiency. Identify opportunities to increase customer-pay service, maintenance sales, and service retention. Ensure dealership, manufacturer, warranty, and safety procedures are followed. Train, develop, and motivate the service team while maintaining a positive and professional work environment. Assist with staffing, scheduling, performance management, and overall fixed operations planning. Qualifications 3+ years of automotive dealership service experience preferred. Previous experience as a Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, Service Advisor, Lane Manager, or Shop Foreman. Strong leadership, communication, customer-service, and conflict-resolution skills. Understanding of dealership service operations, automotive repair, and service department financial metrics. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment. Experience with a Dealer Management System (DMS) preferred. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
