Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive service management, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our service team. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and sales acumen to drive performance and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services. Manage and mentor service technicians, providing guidance on automotive diagnostics, repairs, and customer interactions. Implement effective upselling strategies to enhance service sales and improve overall profitability. Coordinate with customers to understand their vehicle issues and provide accurate auto estimating for necessary repairs. Maintain a clean and organized service area while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain records of services performed. Foster positive relationships with customers by delivering outstanding customer service and addressing any concerns promptly. Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure timely service delivery. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive repair and service management. Qualifications Proven experience in auto service management or a similar role within a dealership environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair, including transmissions, brake repair, oil changes, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repair. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs. Experience in sales and upselling techniques within the automotive industry is preferred. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and familiarity with various vehicle maintenance procedures. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of cash handling procedures and basic accounting principles related to dealership operations.
