We are at the forefront of transforming the meter industry with innovative two-way smart systems that enhance efficiency and provide real-time data to consumers, supporting both green initiatives and customer satisfaction. About the Position Keystone Utility Systems is currently seeking experienced Water Meter Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) and be skilled in changing out water or electric meters . Meter changeouts will take place in the Wilmington, NC area and is expected to last around 3 months (October 2026 - December 2026). We can find work after the project ends if you are willing to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and replace water meters and erts Work with AMI systems for meter reading and data transmission Ensure all work meets company standards and local regulations Maintain accurate records of work performed Travel to job sites as required (travel is a key part of this role)
Requirements:
Proven experience with AMI systems is preferred, but not a deal breaker Willingness to travel Experience with basic hand tools Minimum of 5 years driving experience Valid driver's license and clean driving record Strong work ethic and ability to work independently Qualified candidates must be able to pass a background check and a motor vehicle records check Must provide your own basic tools like crescent wrenches, channel locks, a drill, etc Specialty tools such as curb shutoff keys will be provided The job will require you to lift and bend.
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay rate: $23 per hour from the start of your first job to the completion of your last job. Time traveled from clock in to first job and completion of the last job back to the warehouse will be $15 per hour.
