Basic Job Functions:
The CM2 Mechanic is responsible for providing mechanical maintenance leadership across the CM2 facility, with a primary focus on the Galvanizing Line, Furnance, and Zinc Pot areas. The selected individual will take ownership of one or more assigned areas and serve as a key resource and leader within the maintenance team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing guidance and support to help safely produce a quality product in a timely manner. Performing PMs as directed and helping improve our PM program and perform breakdown repairs. Directing and coordinating contractor activities, including taking after-hours calls and working onsite or at other sites during upset and unplanned conditions. Developing and maintaining Maintenance Procedures, Lockour/Tagout Forms, Work instructions, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Planning and tracking spare parts inventory and equipment placement. Driving continous improvement initiatives withing assigned areas. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated commitment to the safety of all teammates Skilled in the areas of welding, fabrication, and precision measurement Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment, including lifting, standing for extended periods, working at heights, and the ability to operate cranes, manlifts, scissor lifts, sky tracks, forklifts, and mobile equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
