Job Description

Experienced Field Welder / Fabricator -
Erection & Installation Pay:
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience We are looking for an experienced welder/fabricator who knows how to work in the field . If you've spent your career working in a shop and have little or no experience erecting, installing, fitting, and welding on actual jobsites , this probably isn't the position for you. We're looking for someone with at least 3 years of solid welding/fabrication experience , with 5+ years preferred , who can look at a set of drawings, and understand what needs to be done. What You'll Be Doing This position is a combination of field work and shop work . When we have field projects, you'll travel with the crew and be expected to perform installation and erection work in the field. Travel is primarily throughout Florida , with most trips lasting approximately 3-4 days . When we're between field projects, you'll work in our shop. It's common to have a week or two of shop work between field jobs , so you need to be comfortable doing both. Field Work Erect and install metal structures and components. Weld, fit, align, measure, and make field adjustments as needed. Read and work from construction drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Figure out problems in the field and come up with practical solutions . Use grinders, drills, saws, plasma cutters, and other hand and power tools. Work safely around lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and other jobsite equipment. Maintain a professional finished product. Fit, alignment, appearance, and quality matter. Work as part of a crew while also being capable of working independently. Shop Work When we're not on a field job, you'll be working in the shop fabricating and preparing materials for upcoming projects.
Shop duties may include:
Welding and metal fabrication. Cutting, fitting, drilling, grinding, and assembly. Reading drawings and laying out parts. Preparing components for field installation. Making modifications and repairs. Operating forklifts and other shop equipment when qualified. Keeping the shop and work area clean and organized. What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. 5+ years is preferred. More importantly, we're looking for someone who has actually been in the field . You should be comfortable showing up at a jobsite, unloading tools and materials, reading the drawings, figuring out the installation, and getting to work.
You should:
Have proven field erection/installation experience . Be a competent welder and fabricator. Know how to use common hand and power tools. Be able to read drawings and take accurate measurements. Have good mechanical aptitude. Be able to work without someone standing over you all day. Take pride in doing clean, professional work. Be dependable and show up ready to work. Be willing to travel throughout Florida for 3-4 day trips when required. Have a valid driver's license . Be able to pass a background check . Be physically capable of performing field construction and erection work. We live in Florida and it gets hot. The Bottom Line We're not looking for someone who just knows how to weld. We're looking for an experienced tradesman who can weld, fabricate, read drawings, and get things erected and installed in the field . You need to be comfortable working in the shop when we're there and hitting the road when a field project comes up. Some weeks you'll be in the shop every day. Other times you'll spend a few days working on a project somewhere in Florida. If you know your way around a welding machine, can read a drawing, can figure things out in the field, and take pride in leaving a job looking professional, we want to talk to you.
