Electro-Mechanical Technician Position Open! // $40-50 per hour Job Description This Electro-Mechanical Technician role supports a metal manufacturing facility by troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, and performing preventative maintenance on primarily manual production equipment with some automated systems. The position focuses heavily on electrical work while also requiring strong mechanical aptitude to service, maintain, and build machinery that keeps production running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, identify, and complete mechanical repairs on industrial production line equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, filters, grinders, punch presses, and pneumatic components, while minimizing downtime and working with limited supervision. Perform electrical tasks such as changing 1 HP motors, working with 24V DC controlled motors and auto switches, hooking up panels, drilling holes for conduit, and wiring equipment according to specifications. Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs on machine control circuits, including PLCs, AC and DC motors, sensors, and cameras, ensuring reliable and safe operation. Service, maintain, and upgrade existing production equipment and facilities, as well as assist in building new machinery as needed. Perform work on facility support equipment and building maintenance, including painting, floor care, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC service, and other tasks that help maintain the physical building structure. Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to complete work orders, log corrective maintenance issues, and document repairs and improvements accurately. Communicate effectively with production personnel, maintenance technicians, and engineering staff to identify problems, coordinate corrective actions, and support efficient production operations. Suggest and implement improved designs for existing equipment components and systems to enhance reliability, performance, and safety. Perform periodic preventative maintenance on production equipment to ensure safe, proper, and efficient function, following established schedules and procedures. Make replacement and prototype parts and fixtures by machining and fabrication, using appropriate tools and equipment such as lathes, mills, and surface grinders Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale Heights, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
