Job Title:
Field Service Technician - Dairy Equipment Installation Job Description This role focuses on traveling to customer sites across the country to install, service, and maintain dairy equipment. You will use your mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably in a variety of dairy production environments. Responsibilities Travel to customer locations across the country to install dairy equipment according to technical specifications and safety standards. Assemble, install, and secure mechanical components, piping, and related systems using appropriate hand tools and equipment. Perform field service work, including troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments on dairy equipment to restore or maintain proper operation. Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of installed equipment. Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively during installation and service activities. Inspect equipment and installations to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions. Support construction and installation projects by assisting with general labor tasks such as positioning equipment, routing lines, and preparing work areas. Document service activities, repairs, and installations accurately and communicate findings to the appropriate stakeholders. Follow all safety procedures and site rules while working at customer facilities. Collaborate with other technicians and site personnel to complete installations and service work efficiently and on schedule. Essential Skills Proven mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with installation, repair, and service of industrial or agricultural equipment. Proficiency using hand tools and basic power tools for mechanical assembly and repair. Experience performing field service work at customer sites. Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for mechanical equipment. Familiarity with pneumatics and pneumatic components used in industrial equipment. Ability to perform general labor tasks in support of construction and installation projects. Willingness and ability to travel extensively around the country for work. Capability to work safely in industrial or agricultural environments while following established procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience installing or servicing dairy or food processing equipment. Experience in construction, equipment installation, or related trades. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic issues in the field. Ability to read and follow basic technical instructions, diagrams, or layouts. Good communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision while on the road. Why Work Here? Work hours can vary based on project schedules and travel demands, and you may occasionally work outside standard business hours to meet customer needs. Appropriate work attire and any required personal protective equipment will be used in accordance with site and safety requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peoria, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
