The pay rate is $27
• 33 per hour, depending on experience. The schedule is Monday
• Friday, with overtime available as needed.

Candidates must be flexible to meet the demands of a busy ship repair environment.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will be a skilled and detail-oriented Millwright/Outside Machinist with hands-on experience on marine vessels and machinery. This role involves performing mechanical overhauls, repairs, and maintenance on ocean-going vessels, tugs, barges, and related equipment. The position is critical to ensuring operational reliability and safety of marine assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on marine equipment and systems. Test marine engines and machinery to determine repair needs and adjustments. Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, valves, and related components. Remove and repair gearboxes, replacing bearings, seals, and other parts as needed. Remove and repair deep well pumps and shafts. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively. Read and interpret blueprints to plan work scope. Experience with steam turbine equipment is a plus. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a manual machinist in a marine environment within the last 2 years. Hands-on knowledge of ocean-going vessels, tugs, and barges (ITB) machinery operation and repair. Ability to perform specialized mechanical work independently and safely. TWIC card is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible schedule environment.

Physical Requirements:

Work outdoors in inclement weather. Prolonged standing, bending, and working in confined spaces. Ability to lift, move, and manipulate heavy machinery and components.
