Position Description Summary The Hydraulic Disassembly Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient disassembly of hydraulic pumps, valves, cartridge kits, and related components, including Vickers, Denison, Rexroth, and other manufacturers. This position removes and separates components such as plugs, seals, O-rings, bearings, fittings, couplings, hoses, and assemblies while ensuring parts are properly identified, organized, and placed in designated bins for the next stage of the remanufacturing process. The Hydraulic Disassembly Technician is expected to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, safely operate hand and power tools, maintain an organized and productive work area, and follow established safety and quality procedures. This position also supports departmental operations through routine maintenance, material handling, process improvement, and Hi-Lo operation as needed. Essential Functions / Responsibilities Disassemble hydraulic pumps, valves, and cartridge kits, including Vickers, Denison, Rexroth, and other hydraulic components. Remove plugs, seals, O-rings, bearings, and other components from core units during the disassembly process. Remove fittings, couplings, hoses, and assemblies from hydraulic cores. Inspect components during disassembly and identify visible damage, excessive wear, or other conditions requiring attention. Properly separate and place disassembled parts into designated individual bins to maintain organization and prevent component mix-ups. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required for hydraulic component disassembly. Use a torch conservatively and safely when required for the disassembly process. Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand hydraulic component construction and assembly. Maintain productivity and accuracy while handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and departmental processes. Perform routine departmental cleaning and maintenance to keep equipment and work areas in proper condition. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and work area. Provide Hi-Lo/forklift support as needed and when properly trained and authorized. Follow all company safety procedures, work instructions, and established quality standards. Communicate equipment issues, damaged components, safety concerns, or other problems to the appropriate supervisor. Perform other related duties as assigned based on operational needs. May be required to work overtime based on fluctuations in production volume and staffing requirements. Physical Requirements This position requires the employee to: Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, and pull throughout the workday. Lift and carry materials, parts, and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Perform repetitive hand, arm, and body movements associated with hydraulic component disassembly. Safely handle tools, parts, and materials of varying sizes and weights. Perform work while standing for extended periods, with occasional sitting as required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to: Dirt, dust, grease, oil, and other materials commonly associated with hydraulic components and industrial environments. Varying temperatures, including periods of heat and cold. Intermittent or elevated noise from machinery, tools, and other production activities. Moving equipment, machinery, and powered industrial vehicles within the work area. Employees are expected to follow all applicable safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
