We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a leading North American materials manufacturer, for a Full-Time Maintenance Mechanical (Millwright) at their Alpena Cement Plant. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are strictly followed, and the individual must work effectively as a team member. The primary responsibility of this position is to keep all plant production and service equipment in reliable operating condition through rigorous maintenance and repair.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on plant production and service equipment.
- Operate industrial equipment such as forklifts, skid loaders, and telehandlers.
- Operate heavy rigging equipment, including chain falls and come-alongs.
- Identify, repair, and eliminate causes of product spillage.
- Maintain all tools used within the maintenance department.
- Perform all maintenance duties following standard work instructions and rigorous safety procedures to ensure proper equipment utilization.
- Actively demonstrate a commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a culture of safety across all work areas.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of relevant mechanical maintenance or millwright experience.Working Conditions:
Must be able to work independently as well as in teams. Must be willing and able to work overtime as operational needs require. Willingness to partake in additional training to prepare for future advancement.Physical Requirements & Safety:
- Strict adherence to all safety protocols is required.

Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, is mandatory. Employees required to wear tight-fitting respirators must pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
